Introduction
This award recognises the organisation that has shown outstanding achievement in protecting the environment through an initiative or technology.

Criteria
This award is  judged on the following criteria:
1. Impact of the initiative or technology on Saudi Arabia’s air, sea or land environment (50%)
2. Sustainability of the initiative or technology  (30%)
3. Level of educational awareness on environmental issues/solutions raised by the initiative or technology (20%)

Eligibility
Any organisation or company that operates in Saudi Arabia. Nominations must be received by 4 March 2012.
Judging Panel
The judging panel was chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Turki Bin Nasser Bin Abdulaziz.
The inaugural award was presented by His Royal Highness Prince Turki Bin Nasser Bin Abdulaziz, President of the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment at the Gulf Environment and Sustainable Development Forum Opening Ceremony on 29th May 2011.
